Youth Leadership and Involvement

Community Partnerships with Youth, Inc.
Community Partnerships with Youth is a non-profit national training and resource development organization that promotes the active citizenship of youth through adult and youth partnerships. CPY has over ten years of experience in promoting increased youth voice in organizations and communities. CYP provides training for youth and adults, consultation and technical assistance.

Do Something
Do Something is a nationwide network of young people who know they can make a difference in their communities and take action to change the world around them. With support from The Pew Charitable Trusts, Do Something has developed the Do Something Community Connections Campaign to provide community organizations with training, resources and support as they work to involve and engage young people as leaders in their efforts to strengthen America's communities.

International Youth Foundation
The International Youth Foundation (IYF) recently launched this new web-site to inspire and nurture present and future youth leadership world wide. The site provides a virtual space where young people can share lessons, stories, information, and advice on how to lead effective change. It is a space where youth can get up-to-date information, resources, ant tools to strengthen their work.

National Youth Leadership Council
The National Youth Leadership Council's mission is to engage young people in their communities and schools through innovation in learning, service, leadership, and public policy. As one of America's most prominent advocates of service-learning and youth service, the NYLC is at the forefront of efforts to reform education and guide youth-oriented public policy.

Points of Light Foundation
This site will provide youth with the encouragement, peer networks and leadership skills necessary for them to make meaningful contributions to their communities and begin a life-long journey of leadership and service.

Youth Leadership Institute
The Youth Leadership Institute is a community-based institute that joins with young people to build communities that respect, honor and support youth. Based in San Francisco, YLI reaches out to youth who have not traditionally been viewed as leaders and involves them in shaping community change. YLI provides training and technical assistance to people in education, health, and community development systems and agencies, as well as to young people, youth practitioners, policy-makers and other interested parties.

Youth as Resources
The Center for Youth as Resources (CYAR) serves as the umbrella organization for Youth as Resources (YAR). CYAR promotes the philosophy that youth are valuable community resources, and advocates youth involvement in local, state, and national policy arenas. Through instructional materials, technical assistance, and training conducted by experienced youth and adults, CYAR helps local YAR programs start, develop, and expand. Local YAR programs, governed by boards composed of youth and adults, provide grants for youth-initiated, youth-led community projects.

Youth on Board
Youth on Board envisions a world where young people are fully respected, and treated as valued and active members of their families, communities, and society. To reach that end, we are working to revolutionize the role of young people in society.

Youth Service America
Youth Service America (YSA) is a resource center and an alliance of more than 200 organizations committed to increasing the quantity and quality of opportunities for young Americans to serve locally, nationally, or globally. The YSA Information Network provides youth service organizations and the media with key information and research on best practices, resources, opportunities in the youth service field.
